How to stop paying us, and how to get money back

Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from Settings, or by emailing aashwin@makecortex.com. Cancellation is immediate in the sense that no further charge is made — the recurring mandate stops that day.

You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Cancelling on day 3 of a month does not cut you off on day 3; your plan runs to the end of that billing month and then lapses.

Cancelling does not delete your data. Your brain stays where it is, and you can export it or delete it yourself at any time from Settings → Your data. Deletion is described on Trust.

Refunds

If Cortex is not what you expected, request a refund within 7 days of the charge by emailing aashwin@makecortex.com from the address on your account. Tell us the charge date; you do not have to justify yourself.

• We decide within 3 business days and tell you either way.
• An approved refund is issued to the original payment method. Your bank or card issuer then takes 5–10 business days to show it — that part is outside our control.
• A refunded month ends access to paid features immediately. Your data is untouched.

Beyond the 7-day window we do not refund a month already consumed, because you had a working product for it. If we broke something and you could not use what you paid for, write to us anyway — that is a different conversation and we will fix it.

Failed and duplicate charges

A duplicate charge, or a charge after cancellation, is refunded in full with no window and no questions. Email us with the date and amount.

What Cortex is, for the avoidance of doubt

Cortex is software delivered over the internet on a subscription. There is no physical product, nothing is shipped or delivered by courier, and no shipping policy, delivery timeline, or import/export code applies. Access is granted to your account immediately on successful payment.
